Cleaning up the LaHave River
Stella Bowles became an environmental activist when she was in Grade 6 and learned that straight pipes dumped raw sewage into the river beside her house. She used the results of her Grade 6 and 7 Science Fair projects to successfully pressure 3 levels of government into funding a $15.7 million cleanup program.
